We haven't posted for a while because we've been having great Christmas Celebrations and dealing with the start of a new term at school! We hope to be more active this side of Christmas, as the competition is only four weeks away, which means we need to work quickly now and we'll have more to talk about.
Our Progress So Far
We've managed to get our supplies and we now have the materials to make our car. This means a lot because we have physical materials to measure and feel so we know better what we're working with. We've also managed to get quite far with the portfolio, where we have to describe our design process and show our final design. We have also started our Enterprise Portfolio, which details the marketing and sponsorship areas of the project, such as our strategy for reaching out to sponsors and Return On Investment.
Our design has advanced considerably over the previous few weeks, which is one of the most crucial parts of our design. This has varied hugely and we've been constructive based on our design last year and comments from other people in the team. If anyone works in a field involving this kind of engineering, we'll be happy to send you our ideas for some comments as well.
We are now starting to rehearse our Verbal Presentation, which is worth 180 points in the competition and helps us to learn what pitching to people is like. This is a large part of our points, and we won an award last year, so we're excited for this year.
